SPOP/DAXX bodies are nuclear bodies which form by phase separation of SPOP/DAXX in the nucleus. SPOP and DAXX are suggested to interact with each other and together they colocalize at distinct spots in the nucleus and form a different, largely spherical type of nuclear body distinct from nuclear speckles, PML bodies, nucleoli, and Cajal bodies; named SPOP/DAXX bodies. Mutations which disrupt the interaction between SPOP and DAXX localizes SPOP to nuclear speckles and DAXX to the PML bodies (30244836).

SPOP/DAXX bodies are large spherical nuclear bodies. The capacity of the SPOP/DAXX bodies to undergo fusion events in minutes suggests that they have liquid qualities (30244836).
